Hilltop Resort
2008
Ko Samui, Thailand
In mid-2008 we were approached by Tony Morris (now in gaol in the UK for major fraud!) to master-plan and design a hilltop residential resort – consisting of eight uber-luxury villas + health spa and staff quarters – on the tropical island of Ko Samui, in the gulf of Thailand.
Our site analysis identified large areas of vegetation as well as prominent rock-shelves to preserve and enhance. The current master-plan maximises water views and privacy while providing a uniquely different site for each villa.
Early architectural research focused on the traditional Thai response to climate.
