Sports & Leisure

Places where people want to play

Functional, durable, safe, accessible and light-filled sport and leisure hubs enables quality hosting of sports matches and events. A visual and physical focus for the local community.

We lead multidisciplinary teams in this increasingly important sector. We work with sporting organisations, local councils, government bodies and universities.  Key to the success of each project is a detailed understanding of the competing technical requirements and funding streams for different sporting codes and stakeholder groups.

Benchmark designs include accessibility, all gender facilities, home and away change rooms, match official dressing rooms, storage, club room, kiosk, first aid and media. Spectator comfort is enhanced with all weather protection, optimal sports viewing and after-game congregation. Orientation to fields and carparks is maximised for access and climate, the addition of public amenities, such as playgrounds and bbq areas, plus strong indoor and outdoor connections, draw in the community.

Materials reflect the local surroundings, with core requirements of durability, sustainability, natural light and ventilation, and anti-social design.
