Before joining SCA, Alex was based in London for several years where she gained significant experience working on residential projects in heritage conservation areas, and obtained an Advanced Diploma in Professional Architectural Practice at RIBA.

She also brings valuable experience in educational and commercial projects gained from previous practice in Sydney. She is currently project architect on several residential projects across Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Alex combines sensitivity and practicality in her approach to both design and the everyday running of projects. She works across all stages of architectural design and delivery – from early stage sketch design, to working things through on site, to working closely with clients.

Alex played a key role in the design of SCA’s terrace for the NSW Housing Pattern Book.

She admires building designs where the plans work hard, creating moments of delight and joy. Beautiful structures that are built with detail and a human sense of scale, considered but not overworked.

Outside of work, Alex finds relaxation sitting on a sunny balcony with a coffee and a green outlook. Her design inspiration comes from nature and art, and she enjoys making quick sketches to communicate an idea in conversation.
