With qualifications in structural and civil engineering and architecture, Allen brings an interdisciplinary lens to his practice and work ethic.

He combines rigorous technical thinking, construction detailing and problem-solving, with a passion for beautiful, considered architectural spaces.

His experience across the architectural discipline – from design and documentation, to contract administration and construction support – and his knowledge of structures has contributed to a deep understanding of design and building from an interdisciplinary lens.

On the SCA leadership team, he chairs the Sustainability Working Group and oversees the technical review guide, managing quality and risk across projects.

Allen plays an active role in advancing day-to-day practice, business development, new industry relationships, and mentoring new staff.

He joined SCA in 2016 and leads teams across residential and public buildings. He worked on Parramatta Park Café (AIA award short-listed) and Darlinghurst Terrace (shortlisted for IDEA, AIDA and INDE awards), Mackey Park Amenities. His current projects include the heritage-listed 1930s Gunnamatta Pavilion, a koala sanctuary and masterplanning sports projects for local councils.

Allen is co-chair of EmAGN NSW (emerging architects and graduate network), a member of the NSW AIA Chapter Council, and was a juror for the NSW EmAGN Award for graduates and undergraduates.

He enjoys the SCA office culture, and conversations with peers inspire him. In his spare time Allen loves to rock climb, hike, kayak - anything outdoors.
