Growing up on a dairy farm in New Zealand he is adept with all sorts of tools to craft landscapes and furniture.
The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre by Patterson Associates, located in a small village near his hometown, prompted him to study architecture. Its stainless-steel façade, shaped into a striking sculptural form, fabricated and installed by local craftsmen, functions as art gallery, public artwork and major tourist attraction. It demonstrates that world-class architecture can exist outside major cities.
Design inspiration comes from a walk, listening to music, and a good film. His design sketches are on pen and notebook.
Jonas loves to cook, go to a good music gig, and spend time at Bondi beach with good company.
