He previously worked at a global sports architecture firm and brings this extensive sports design experience to sports infrastructure projects at SCA.
He seeks to create architecture that is responsive to current and future needs, that transforms and elevates public space, extending the long-lasting impacts of architectural interventions.
He adopts a hands-on approach to problem solving whilst striving to achieve design excellence and sustainable solutions in all projects.
Rhys joined SCA in 2021 and oversees the design development and documentation of public projects. He was lead architect on Queens Park Amenities and UNSW Grandstand and was project manager for both the Hartford College campus redevelopment and Snape Park amenities.
He manages the SCA Integrated Management System, and sits on SCA’s Technical Review and Sustainability Working Groups.
Rhys is passionate about sustainability and appreciates buildings that achieve modernity whilst grounding the work in a regional context. He loves to travel, walks in the bush, chasing after his young son, and is an avid runner.
