Willowdale Sports Pavilion was named a Gold Winner in the Built Environment, Architectural Design category at the 2026 Good Design Awards, announced on 9 October. The project has also been named a winner in the Recreational Architecture category at the 2026 Architecture MasterPrize.

Commissioned by Stockland and Campbelltown City Council, the pavilion is a civic sports and recreation hub in Sydney’s south-west that combines sporting amenities with generous public gathering spaces. Inspired by the discovery of 7,000-year-old Indigenous clay ovens on the site, the design interprets the site’s cultural history through contemporary architecture that supports community life.
Designed by Sam Crawford Architects with artwork by Lymesmith, ASPECT Studios as lead consultant and landscape architect, and built by RELD Group with Solutions+.
