ONGOING / Oran Park, NSW
Embracing the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which values children as capable, resourceful learners, the thoughtfully designed facility serves up to 119 children aged 0-5 years while prioritising community integration and environmental harmony.

Discovery Through Architecture and Context
The single-storey design respectfully responds to its residential context while establishing a meaningful dialogue with the expansive new park across the road. This strategic positioning creates opportunities for the centre to extend its educational reach into the broader landscape, reinforcing connections between structured learning and natural discovery.

The building’s perimeter sees dedicated external play zones, each tailored to specific developmental stages while maintaining visual connections across age boundaries.
Sam Crawford Architects were also engaged to design the landscape, ensuring seamless transitions between internal and external play areas, and creating a cohesive spatial experience where the boundaries between built and natural environments dissolve.
This holistic approach to site planning, landscape and architectural design demonstrates how thoughtful educational environments can foster learning, strengthen community connections, and respond sensitively to their growing suburban setting.
