The Easts Rugby Club is the beating heart of the Rose Bay community, with championship winning teams across all grades including the growing women’s teams.

Architecture that prioritises equity, inclusion, and community participation in sport.
To meet their needs, the Club engaged SCA to provide architectural and project management services to deliver new sports change rooms to support women in sport while providing universally accessible amenities and viewing areas.

“The new building forms a new aesthetic language for future site development, showcasing natural, robust materials that harmonize with the coastal environment. Sandy brick and Australian hardwood create a warm, durable aesthetic that complements the surrounding landscape.”
The design incorporates natural ventilation and acoustic design principles, delivering spacious, resilient team gathering spaces alongside dedicated first aid and referee facilities.
The building’s slightly elevated position – a practical response to the flood-prone site – has been transformed into an advantage, providing a covered spectator veranda offering protected, universally accessible viewing.
The architectural outcome not only addresses functional requirements but creates a welcoming space that celebrates inclusivity in sport.
